Down Under Stables offers full-service boarding only a few minutes from Ann Arbor on a paved road. We are always open!

Horses munch on hay or grass almost all day. They get their individualized feed in the morning and the evening. If your horse requires a lunch…no problem! All horses get daily turnout. Most are out all day, but some of our hot house flowers come in midday.

In the summer they can be out at night if you prefer. On hot days, they are in their rubber-matted stalls behind fans looking out their windows at the world. Fly sheets and blankets are taken on and off as needed. We have large grassy paddocks and oak-fenced smaller yards for horses that can’t have a lot of grass and cannot work up a head of steam for manic excursions.

We have 2 barns, both with large rubber-matted stalls. Whichever barn you choose the care of your horse is identical. All stalls are cleaned daily.

The owner lives on the property and keeps an eye on everything!

Boarding

UPPER BARN

This barn is newer and has a heated tack room. All stalls are 12x12 and have rubber mats. The main advantage of this barn is that is directly attached to our indoor arena. So, no walking through the snow or rain on your way to the arena.

LOWER BARN

This is a cozy barn with gated stalls where the horses can stick their heads out and mind everybody else's business. The stalls are roomy, and rubber-matted. There is a tack room and space in the aisle for your trunk if you want to bring one.

There are rubber mats in the aisle for horse safetey and comfort while on the cross ties.
